The Blatchford Air Traffic Control Tower was the primary navigational tower for "the Muni"- the Edmonton Municipal Airport, once known as the Blatchford Air Field, the WWII base that hosted Allied air forces in the 1940's. The airport site has been reimagined as Blatchford Development, a forward-looking sustainable community connected to a district energy system with augmented design and building codes. The tower offers a unique view of the city and an experience of a building few get to experience.

The tower is currently being rehabilitated by Dub Architects and there will be a presentation of design proposals on display. A reception featuring brews from a local brewery will be available.

Ticket holders will have access to the tower and will be taken up in small groups. With the exception of very small children, all are welcome. Please note that unfortunately, the elevator is non-functional making the space inaccessible for any attendees with mobility issues. Patrons should be capable of climbing several flights of stairs.
